Dancesport and Competition Ever watch those outrageous ballroom dance competitions on TV? Well that's it. Dancesport = competitive ballroom dancing. You've probably seen two different divisions: International style standard (ballgown and tailsuits) where they compete in the waltz, foxtrot, tango, and Viennese Waltz; and International Style Latin (lots of sequins and flesh) where competitors dance cha-cha, samba, rumba, paso doble, and jive. There are other fun divisions as well that you probably haven't seen on TV (like American style), as well as separate categories for various levels and age divisions ranging from wee tots to octogenarians. Come see a competition live and more than likely next time you'll be entering yourself. We train students of all ages and levels of experience for dancesport competition.
